Patients with stage IV carcinoid tumors have a slightly worse prognosis than those who possess other types of cancer. However, only about 14% survive for longer periods without treatment or natural progression to terminal stages
The overall five year survival rate is 78%. But this number drops down dramatically when we look at Stage IV diseases–just above 72 percent are alive after one year!

88 percent of people who have a stage 4 tumour can survive for 1 year or more. Around 71 out every 100 will live at least this long, but 29 die within the first 6 months due to their condition’s severity!
