After masturbation, men often notice increased blood flow into the penis, stronger erections, enlarged prostate glands, and sperm production. Women report feeling relaxed, having better orgasms, and experiencing less anxiety. Most importantly, however, masturbation provides self-pleasure.
So now that we know why everyone does it, let’s take a closer look at how long it takes for a child to develop feelings toward self-touching. A study published in the Journal of Sex Research found that most children—both boys and girls—play with their external sex organs or “”private parts”” fairly regularly by the age of 5-6 years. By age 15, almost 100 percent of boys and 25 percent of girls have masturbated to the point of orgasm. That means that by the age of 6, almost every one of those girls had reached puberty. Another study showed that between the ages of 3 and 8, girls were able to identify different types of body parts (such as breasts) in pictures and correctly name them. So, although it varies from individual to individual, just like adults, children usually get started masturbating through exploration. Some parents worry that letting their child explore his or her body too early will cause them psychological problems later on. However, experts say that this isn’t necessarily true. If anything, it could actually lead to better mental health down the road.
As mentioned earlier, masturbation is natural and healthy, especially if you consider that it allows you to release built up tension. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that most people masturbate at least once per week. When asked whether children need sleep as much as adults, he replies, “”Absolutely.”” As soon as a child hits the teenage years, he or she begins to lose focus. Their bodies and minds react differently to the hormonal fluctuations that occur during adolescence. Teenagers’ brains function differently than those of children and teens. Teens also spend more time texting friends and posting updates on social media sites. All of this distracts them from focusing on homework, studying, and other responsibilities. Since masturbation releases tension and improves mood, it can help teenagers relax and fall asleep easier.

Studies show that frequent masturbation promotes better communication skills among teenagers. According to researchers, this is due to two main factors. First, the ability to concentrate on something else causes arousal levels to drop, allowing the mind to focus on another subject. Second, the practice of masturbation releases endorphins, chemicals that promote positive emotions such as happiness, satisfaction, and relaxation. These feelings enhance learning and creativity, which ultimately results in improved performance on tests.
