How To Speak In Tongues

The Bible says that when we were born again, we received the spirit of Christ (Galatians 4: 6-7). This is what helps us to understand the meaning of speaking in tongues. We also know that Christians who are baptized into Jesus’ name receive the Holy Spirit. The purpose of these two gifts is for us to communicate with one another and God directly. One way we can do this is by praying in tongues. Speaking in tongues is an act of worship toward our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s not limited to just Christians either; it can be used by anyone who believes in Jesus as their savior.
Speaking in tongue means talking gibberish. I’m sure you’ve heard of people on drugs or drunk who talk nonsense all day long. They’re called “Looney Tunes”. When they sober up, they don’t remember much. That’s how your brain works too. Your brain does not register anything while you’re awake. Only after some time passes does your mind begin registering things that happened during those few hours. If you want to learn how to speak in tongues, then you must go through the same process. You need to practice.
You have to start producing random speech before God will help you to speak in tongues. These sounds will probably be choppy and repetitive at first. Just keep repeating them until you feel comfortable enough to stop. Then repeat the whole process again and again. After a while, your mouth should get accustomed to saying these sounds without thinking about them anymore. Now you are ready to move on to more advanced forms of speaking in tongues.
Before starting out, make sure you have a quiet place where you won’t disturb others around you. Also, if possible, try to avoid doing so during meal times. There are no rules here. Just follow whatever comes naturally. Don’t think too hard about it.
Here are some tips that might be helpful:
1) First, you’ll need something to listen to. A CD player works well because it has headphones built in. Turn down the volume so it won’t distract other people around you. Have music playing softly on the speakers. Make sure there aren’t any distractions coming from outside.
2) Next, find your voice. Try to sing along with the song on the CD. Singing makes it easier to produce different tones. Find a simple tune that goes along with the words you’re going to say. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know the lyrics yet. The important thing is to stay relaxed while you sing. Let yourself go and enjoy the moment.
3) Now, take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Relax your lips and jaw slightly. Think of nothing else except for that word you want to say. Say it loud and clear – even though it may sound very weird at first. Keep practicing this over and over again. Once you become comfortable with it, add more sounds and phrases to what you already know. This helps build your vocabulary.
4) Never worry about making mistakes. Even if you’re wrong, it doesn’t matter. What matters most is that you believe in what you are saying. And don’t forget to close your eyes occasionally. This helps focus your thoughts better.
5) Another tip would be to use your imagination. Here’s an example: Imagine a waterfall flowing gently down from above. Feel its coolness against your face. Do this with every phrase you say.
6) Be aware of your surroundings. This is very important. Don’t just sit there staring at the ceiling fan. Look around and watch what’s happening around you. Sometimes, you can see people looking at you strangely. But don’t give it a second thought.
7) Finally, never rush through this exercise. Take your time and relax. Remember, you only need to do this once in a while. It’s not meant to replace prayer. It’s simply a fun activity to bond with the Lord.
If you really put effort into learning how to speak in tongues, you’ll soon discover that it can open doors of wisdom and understanding for you. This is why it is recommended for everyone to learn how to speak in tongues. Many people believe that it is only reserved for special groups such as Pentecostal churches. However, this isn’t true. Anyone can experience this wonderful gift of the Spirit. All it takes is faith and patience. May God bless you as you continue to walk closer to Him.
