What Can U Drink To Get Rid Of Pregnancy

What Can U Drink To Get Rid Of Pregnancy? Pregnancy is an exciting time — and also one that can be stressful, especially if you’re expecting multiples or have complications such as preeclampsia. But there are some things in life that aren’t all about fun and joy; sometimes they’re serious business. This includes drinking during pregnancy, which can cause problems ranging from low-birth weight to death. So what exactly can you drink to get rid of pregnancy? And how much should you consume? Let’s start by taking a look at the facts.

The Facts on Alcohol Consumption During Pregnancy

Alcohol consumption during pregnancy has been linked to high rates of stillbirth, spontaneous abortion, premature delivery and very low birth weight babies. In addition, heavy drinking (more than two drinks per day) while pregnant raises the risk of delivering a fetus with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). Fetal alcohol effects include facial abnormalities, learning disabilities and cognitive impairment [sources: Centers for Disease Control].

A study published in 2009 found that women who drank less than 14 standard drinks (that’s five shots of 100-proof liquor) had children whose IQ was 7 points higher than those born to abstainers. A standard drink contains 10 grams of ethanol, so it takes approximately three standard drinks per week (about 1 ounce/day or 28 grams) to reach this level. One drink equals 5 ounces of wine or 12 ounces of beer or 0.5 ounces of 80-proof distilled spirits like rum, vodka or gin. Some studies indicate that moderate consumption (less than 14 drinks per week) may not increase the risk of FASD; however, these findings were based on small sample sizes and could not rule out the possibility of an increased risk.

If you do decide to drink during pregnancy, moderation is key. It’s important to remember that no amount of alcohol is safe when trying to conceive or during the first trimester. If possible, avoid drinking alcohol within four hours of unprotected sex. You should also limit yourself to no more than two drinks per day if you already have a history of alcohol abuse or dependence. Also, never drink and drive, even if you’ve decided to stop altogether.

Now let’s take a look at some other ways to help you kick your cravings and find relief from pregnancy symptoms.

Marijuana is another popular drug used to treat nausea and morning sickness. Although most states have legalized marijuana use for medicinal purposes, its use — whether medically or recreationally — remains illegal. Marijuana is addictive, and repeated use poses health risks. Even though marijuana is often touted as a cure-all for many ailments, it doesn’t actually contain any nutrients essential to healthy development. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, marijuana affects brain chemistry differently according to each individual user. For example, some users experience memory loss, confusion and disorientation, whereas others report feelings of euphoria and relaxation. Women using marijuana should plan their pregnancies carefully, consult with their doctor before starting and always keep in mind that marijuana is not a benign substance.

Alternative Remedies

For people looking for natural remedies, herbal teas and supplements offer promise. These products work naturally without side effects and are readily available through retail outlets nationwide. However, because herbs are living organisms, they interact with other foods, medications and vitamins. When taken together, certain combinations can produce harmful results. For instance, garlic has strong antibacterial properties, but combining garlic with prescription antibiotics increases the likelihood of yeast infections and antibiotic resistance. Likewise, gingko biloba has been shown to improve blood flow to the heart, but combined with aspirin, it can cause severe stomach bleeding. Always check with your physician before adding new supplements to your diet.

While alternative medicine offers hope to millions of expectant parents worldwide, it’s important to note that these treatments don’t provide conclusive evidence for their effectiveness. There is little scientific research regarding the efficacy of homeopathic drugs and nutritional therapies. Many alternative practitioners also claim that their methods are effective alternatives to conventional medical practices. Before choosing an approach, make sure to ask questions about the practitioner’s education, training and licensing requirements. Only choose a provider who is certified by reputable organizations, such as the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Board of Registered Nursing or the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Make sure that he or she follows current guidelines for patient care and treatment, including safety precautions.

There is no easy way around the fact that consuming alcohol during pregnancy carries risks. With proper planning and awareness, however, you’ll know what options are best for you and your family.

Many experts believe that alcohol consumption causes breast cancer due to the effect it has on estrogen levels. Estrogen helps maintain normal cell growth and division. As cells grow older, they begin to lose their ability to divide. Without enough estrogen, old cells may continue dividing unchecked, leading to cancerous tumors.
