Other less common side effects include chest pain, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, palpitations (irregular beating of the heart), abdominal cramps, and weakness. If any of these side effects occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult your physician.
If you have had previous allergic reactions to metronidazole or similar sulfonamide type antibiotics, then contact your doctor before using this product. You should not use metronidazole if you are pregnant, nursing, or planning on becoming pregnant.

WARNINGS
Do NOT drink grapefruit juice while taking Peridex. Use caution when driving or operating machinery while taking Peridex; may cause blurred vision, difficulty in focusing, impaired judgment, etc. May interfere with the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, barbituates, benzodiazepines, beta blockers, carbamazepine, certain antihistamines, cimetidine, clindamycin, clarithromycin, cyclophosphamide, estrogens, erythromycin, ketoconazole, lamotrigine, phenytoin, rifampicin, ranitidine, ritonavir, thioridazine, tricyclics, vitamin K, warfarin, zafirlukast.
Pregnancy Category “C”. Avoid pregnancy. Not recommended during breastfeeding. Do not give to children under age 12. May harm an unborn baby. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and sunlight.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Take one capsule daily with water approximately 30 minutes after meals. Swish well with warm water. Then gently spit to avoid swallowing residues. DO NOT SPIT INTO THE TOILET OR FLUSH WITHOUT ASKING AN ADULT’S HELP FIRST! After each dose, wash your hands carefully with soap and water. If necessary, flush eyes with water for several seconds. Get medical advice if symptoms persist or worsen. Seek immediate medical attention if there is severe pain.
STORAGE AND PRECAUTIONS
Store in original packaging at room temperature. Protect from heat, moist, humidity, and light. Throw away all unused capsules. Keep container closed tightly in a safe place.
