Why Do I Work Better At Night
“Recently, I was talking to my mother about feminism and she said something very interesting. She said that it’s better for everyone if we just let people be who they are without trying to force them into what we believe is right or wrong. This made me think about how many times as women we try to push our views on other people. We often do this when we’re young and don’t really know all there is to know about life yet. And even older women will still do this because they’ve been doing it their whole lives. So can a man be a feminist? Is he allowed his own beliefs and opinions on things like equality and social justice? Or does being a feminist mean you have to follow everything your mom taught you?
The answer is yes. You can be a feminist. But before I go any further, here’s some information on why most people aren’t convinced that a man can actually be a feminist. The first thing that comes to mind is that feminism means hating men. That’s certainly true. However, feminism also stands for fighting for equal rights between genders. It doesn’t stand for hate toward anyone. Another common misconception is that feminism only applies to women. Feminism has always stood for equal rights and fair treatment for both genders. Men should fight for these same causes. Being a feminist simply means standing up for others no matter what gender they belong to. It isn’t about forcing yourself upon another person, but rather letting them make their own decisions without having to feel guilty because you helped out.
Now that that’s cleared up, let’s talk about whether a man can truly be a feminist. First off, you need to understand that being a feminist doesn’t necessarily mean you agree with every single cause a woman might support. Some men may disagree with abortion for instance, while others may support it. If you want to be a feminist, then you need to look at the big picture. For example, abortions and birth control pills help prevent unwanted pregnancies so therefore helping to reduce population growth, which helps protect wildlife and natural habitats. Also, by using birth control, someone won’t have to worry about getting pregnant from sex, which allows more time and energy to pursue careers instead of raising a family. As you see, feminism is pretty much about making sure women get treated fairly and equally than men. Therefore, it makes sense that a man would probably be able to stand behind the movement.
So now that we’ve established that a man can be a feminist, where does it leave us? Well, it leaves us with a lot of questions. What exactly is a feminist anyway? How did feminism start? There are several different theories on how feminism got started. One theory states that feminism began after the Civil War during Reconstruction. During this time, women had lost property and land through slavery and needed new opportunities to earn money. They wanted to work outside the home and didn’t want to be restricted anymore. After years of battling against racism and discrimination, black women finally gained the right to vote. From there, white women followed suit. At first, the suffragettes fought for voting rights, but eventually evolved into fighting for women’s rights in general. These include things such as education, health care, and working conditions. Although the men were the ones pushing for the war, the women came back stronger than ever. They weren’t going to sit around and allow men to dictate their future.
Feminists today continue to fight for social change. Unfortunately, due to sexism, women are still underrepresented in politics, business, and science. Women tend to stay home taking care of children and families while most men take advantage of this lack of opportunity. Also, women tend to receive less pay for the same amount of experience and job performance as compared to men. Overall, women are given fewer resources and opportunities than men are. Most women today are expected to stay home and raise kids while supporting the household income. Many women end up trapped in abusive relationships due to economic reasons. Young girls are often pressured into becoming sexual objects instead of pursuing their dreams. All of these issues affect not only women, but society as well.
As you can see, feminism is about giving women equal rights and freedom to choose their own career paths. It’s not about forcing women to stay home and stay confined to stereotypical roles. By allowing people to decide what they want to do in life, you give them the chance to succeed. Everyone deserves the ability to become whoever they want to be regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual preference.”
